7 Problems We Encounter in a Technology Rich World
22th - Mar 2016
Even though technology is supposed to make our lives easier, it often causes us even more problems ageLOC Me. Do you often use a tablet or a smartphone? Do you spend most of your time online? Of course, you do, as almost everyone has gadgets and waste hours web surfing. Internet addiction disorder is currently one of the most serious problems humanity has to deal with. Regardless of how many disadvantages technology has, there are many problems we encounter besides the Internet addiction disorder. Check out some of them below.
1. Time
Living in a technology rich world seems to help us save time. It’s true… partially. Think about how much time do you spend chatting with friends online, watching videos or just leafing through some colorful pictures? Your phone can suddenly break for no reason and your laptop can hang and you can lose important information. Look at the kids – they are all obsessed with social media and computer games. So do you still believe technology helps us get more done during the day? Maybe we could spend our time even more efficiently without all those innovations.2. Discontent
The biggest problem of all technologies is that we`re never fully contented with them. No matter what laptop you have, there`s a better one you`d like to get. Even if today you have the newest gadget, there`ll be the improved one to buy tomorrow. We often have misunderstandings with computers and their softwares that need to be fixed and it also annoys a lot. The more people improve their technology, the more problems they encounter.3. Friends
Are you a social media user? Nowadays most people are and everyone has hundreds of online friends Freight Forwarder. You probably also have about 200, 500 or 700 so-called friends that you haven`t even seen ever in your life. Do you feel the difference between online friends and real friends? Friends are people whom you can rely on and share grief and happiness with. Can you rely on your online friends?
4. Children
Today’s young generation can`t imagine their life without smartphones, tablets, computers and the Internet. Most children lose their sight at a very early age because of modern technology. They suffer from the lack of movement and many of them have already forgot how the sunshine looks like. Furthermore, children now have an access to all that adult stuff that effects them badly and can even cause psychological frustrations.5. The screen size really matters
The screen size of your phone is another irony in a modern world of technology and here`s why… Do you remember when cell phones only started to appear? That time cell phones were huge sized and that was a real problem. Then they gradually became smaller and thinner. The smaller size of cell phone you had the cooler you were. Now we need the bigger screens and again our smartphones become bigger. What`s actually going on?6. Buy, buy, buy!
In truth, old things work better and longer than new ones. My parents bought an iron when they were teenagers. Even though they don`t use it now, that iron is still ready to work after twenty five years. You wouldn`t find the thing of the same quality on the modern market. Nowadays it`s easier to buy the new one if something is wrong with your gadget as it`s extremely expensive to fix them.7. Naive expectations
Do you remember those old movies about the estimated future? More than 30 years ago people thought that the humanity would have flying cars and robot-workers in 2000s. It`s so funny to compare old naive expectations with the current reality. This is probably the biggest irony of a technology rich world.Technology is an irreplaceable part of every modern person`s life. Technology definitely helps us yet there are so many ironic things about it too. Perhaps we will never stop using our smartphones and laptops, but it’s critical to realize that living in a technology rich world isn’t as simple as it seems. Avoid spending too much time online and remember about your real family and real friends. What things do you hate about technology best university?
Happy Holidays
23 June2016
In prison, holidays are the worst. Birthdays, anniversaries, Thanksgiving, Christmas, even Valentine's Day can be a "bummer." It's difficult and painful to be away from those we love-to be left out of the celebrations and the memory making. Many times, we feel a little forgotten or overlooked.
Birthdays in prison come and go without the comfort of cake with candles and the magic of blowing them out. Christmas mornings are without a fancy tree or presents. Thanksgivings are hard to feel thankful for, with dinner served on a cold, metal cafeteria tray.
My first Thanksgiving in prison, I refused to eat. My first birthday I spent alternating between rage and feeling more sorry for myself than ever before. On Christmas, I wouldn't even get out of bed. I stayed under the covers to hide the tears I cried all day.
So holidays in here are the worst-at least I thought hey were until I realized a few things. Once I stripped away all the commercialism and hype, I saw what holidays were all about. They're elaborate excuses we use to take a look at our lives, our successes and failures, and to spend quality time with our loved ones.
In here or out there, we can still take stock of ourselves and make plans, dream dreams, examine our behavior to see what we like and don't like. Even in here, we have the power to change what falls short of our ideal self?image.
Not being able to spend quality time with those we love is a little tougher-until we realize that the people we care for are always with us-in our hearts and minds. And just as they're with us, we are with them in spirit.
The days we can't spend together physically, we can still take time to remember them fondly… making phone calls, sending cards or letters helps both us and our loved ones.
Other people don't make us happy. Special places and people might help the mood, but the celebration and love comes from within. The challenge is to find it there-a state of mind, a positive attitude. It's easy to use a holiday as an excuse to be sad or edgy. I've been there. Our challenge is to celebrate every day as special. Life is a precious gift, whether we're in jail or not.
I'm planning a celebration every day this year-a celebration of life. You're invited. Happy Holidays! RSVP.
10 Signs Of Genuine People
Mar 2016
Who doesn’t like what is genuine, authentic and original? Being genuine is a trademark of success as this quality boosts self-confidence and primes vision and focus. Genuine people don’t need to fake it or pretend to be what or who they are not as there are no privileges for them to live under such a guise. However being genuine in a world where there is a lot of attention and publicity offered to products, individuals or items which end up betraying our trust makes it hard for us to be genuine. Yet it is worth it. Here is how one can know if they are genuine.
1. They protect their self esteem
Genuine people are not concerned about external factors that could bruise their esteem. They don’t need validation from their external environment since they are much less defensive about a lot of things. They are instead happy and content with who they are.2. They speak their mind
Genuine people are expressive. They are not shy about sharing their thoughts or perspectives about a subject. They understand that their opinions count. It is not as if they are trying to convince others about what they have to say, rather they feel relevant enough to be heard.3. They can define their paths
They know where they are going. They do not need to be pushed by conventional thoughts or opinions on how to achieve or attain their goals. They can discover the adequate channels to take as they have an internal guide on how to pursue their passions or goals. They can forge an entirely new path in the process of getting to their destination.4. They can take responsibility
They understand that life is a mix of wrongs and right and nothing is perfect. As much as they are able to confront their thoughts, beliefs and behaviors, they know how to identify their faults and accept them if their actions from them hurt others.5. They can offer and take a compliment
They are able to offer their gratitude and accept one too. They see a compliment for what it is and do not strain such expressions. They do not over-think it or find reasons for not accepting a well displayed form of gratitude. They understand the flow of life and how much they can help in channeling that flow of acceptance and giving.6. They do not judge others
Since they are honest about their abilities and they know they are not perfect they find reason to give room to others mistakes and opinions. Other humans should be given the opportunity to express themselves as we all have differing beliefs and opinions. They are not judgmental of others.7. They are not insecure
They are not masked with feelings of inferiority or insecurity. They really are not concerned about other people’s opinion as they are confident and simply themselves. They do not adjust their lifestyle for you to like them or not.8. They are not threatened by failure
Genuine people see failure as a way of learning. They are not afraid to try something new and go down an unconventional route if it will be a source of experience, knowledge and satisfaction. They are far from trying to take a route because it guarantees safety and security. Rather they are happy with doing something other people are not doing to challenge the norm.9. They practice what they preach and preach what they practice
You can count on them practicing what they preach. They are solid and predictable. They meet their commitments and do not try to exaggerate in their deeds or words. As genuine people they are not trying to live their lives according to other people’s standard. Even when it is hard to practice authenticity they know the importance of informing others why it is necessary to practice it. Whether it is a tough truth or not, they will still preach it.10. They don’t need possessions from their surroundings to be happy
They are happy with who they are already. They are comfortable with their inner self and what is within provides the most happiness. They can find happiness in their work, their loved ones, and in their self. These simple things are enough for them to be happy. This is why they do not seek happiness from the outside whether in terms of possessions or people’s comments about them.
